Aaron Pursell's career began training with Aveda in 2001. In 2004 he moved to New York City where he began his training at Bumble and Bumble. This created an extensive background working for the fashion industry, doing photo shoots with magazines including, Nylon, V, Italian Vogue, W, to mention a few. While at Bumble and Bumble he participated working backstage at Fashion shows, including Lacoste, Thom Browne, BCBG, Hood by Air, etc. Between 2006 and 2009 he was also an educator at Bumble and Bumble University and helped with product development. Aaron now spends most of his time in Boulder Colorado, where he works at MeRKaBa House Salon as well as taking occasional clients at Cutler Salons in Soho, when frequenting NYC.

Beginning in 2016 Aaron began teaching haircutting for Fearless Beauty, an organization that is using the beauty industry as a tool to mentor and empower women. (Fearlessbeauty.org) He spends time teaching at Rikers Island in NY in addition to one month a year teaching these skills in Rishikesh, India.
